This installation serves as a music visualization in cooperation with the DJ at the event. All behaviour and presentation projected on the canvas is reacting to the music. Additionally I have the ability to change parameters like color switches and behaviour changes to adapt to different music styles.
The movement of the 'boids/birds' on the screen are calculated by a flocking algorithm. The audience has the ability to control a bird with their smartphone by visiting a displayed URL.
This installation was an experimentation in music visualization, performance art and audience interaction for me. It was part of the 3-year anniversay celebration of the School of Machines, Making and Make-Believe.
